Concrete-Concrete
Concrete-Concrete floor reinforcement
Mixed brick-cement floor popularity increased at the same time as the reconstruction of Italy following the post-war period. In these years the steel used in the joists was reduced to the minimum necessary and, in fact, the existing floors of this type are now inadequate compared to the requirements imposed by the regulations.
The Al-fer dry connector is ideal for reinforcing concrete floors thanks to its high resistance to the particular geometric shape and the high yield strength of about 600 Mpa. The technique involves the installation of the DRY connector and the construction of a new collaborating concrete slab.
The benefits of Al-fer Dry Connector System
Static recovery of the wooden structure
Resin-less (Dry) intervention
Static and seismic improvement
5/6 connectors per sqm on average
Highly competitive cost impact
Reliable execution by unskilled labour

An existing brick cement floor reinforced by a new reinforced concrete hood made integral thanks to the use of the al-fer dry connector allows the increase of flow compared to the new loads, better seismic performance (flat diaphragm) and is decidedly economical compared to its total reconstruction.
For this type of application, the Al-fer type CC1 dry connector has been designed, which in the standard version is 12 cm long, including 4 headers for anchoring in the new slab, 1 cm of round full diameter 16 mm and conical thread with a reverse fit of 7 cm. This geometry allows the installation of the connector in most of the brick joists in compliance with the packaging irons in the lower part.
Installation
Installation is simple, does not require a specialised worker and consists of 2 phases:
pre-drill with 14 mm tip diameter up to the maximum depth;
astening the connector by means of a pulse screwdriver (min 280 Nm ) until the smooth part of the stem is completely inserted and the stop rests on the existing slab
Connector distance
For connector installation, it is best to follow the instructions provided by the work director, who can use the free program that can be downloaded under the item Software or request technical assistance.
