Floor reinforcement with Quick Beams Union
As part of the dry connections, AL-FER s.r.l. has sought a practical and fast solution for the connection between the floor beams or wooden roofs. Through the horizontal application of Special Connectors it is possible to create beam-beam joints without shaping in the wood and avoiding the use of through bars or metal profiles. Thanks to the high shear strength combined with the pre-compression that the connector creates during screwing, the joint is extremely resistant and the beams are integral with each other.
This technique is particularly useful where it is necessary to make joints on site with important offsets or in the presence of beams to be shaped.

The quick union connector adapts to any type of connection and its geometric composition is designed according to specific needs.
The head is shaped in such a way as to allow screwing and a pleasant aesthetic shape. Thanks to the particular enlarged plate, the pre-compression of the wood is increased.
The round pin, diameter Ø 16 mm, guarantees the shear seal in the secondary beam. The threaded part hooks onto the main beam and guarantees the union between the elements.
Installation
Installation is simple, does not require a specialised worker and consists of 3 phases:
pre-drill with 11.5 mm tip diameter up to the maximum depth;
The hole is widened with a 16 mm diameter tip just beyond the existing planking;
Screwing of the connector with an impact wrench (min 280 Nm) until the washer is completely penetrated into the wood

For the positioning of the connectors in the beam-beam joints, it is advisable to follow the instructions given by the construction management, which may use the classic formulas for bolted joints (adding the rope effect) or request technical assistance.
