Steel-Concrete floor reinforcement

AL-FER’s continuous research in the field of reinforcement with dry techniques has resulted in a SELF-TAPPING connector for the reinforcement of steel floors with collaborating concrete slabs.

The self-tapping dry connector is composed of a single steel pin with a yield strength of about 800 Mpa specially designed to create the thread on the installation profile ensuring a perfect mechanical seal.

The benefits of Al-fer dry Connector System

Static recovery of the wooden structure

Resin-less (Dry) intervention

Self-threading System

5/6 connectors per sqm on average

Highly competitive cost impact

Reliable execution by unskilled labour

The field of application of this type of construction ranges from residential housing to large structures such as bridge decks with mixed steel-concrete structures. The connector material is composed of steel with a resistance of more than 800 MPa. Its high performance significantly reduces the amount that is used on average, in fact, about 4/5 connectors per square metre are sufficient, definitely reducing work time with highly competitive costs.

The connection is made with a single element easily inserted on the upper wing of the metal profile by screwing into a previously executed hole. The tools required are limited to a drill and a thrust screwdriver, found on each site and therefore without additional costs for the company.

The time required to position a single connector, including pre-drill, screwing and site cleaning is less than one minute. The simplicity and immediacy of the installation does not require specialised labour or special materials.

Installation

Installation is simple, does not require a specialised worker and consists of 2 phases:

pre-drill with 11 mm tip diameter up to the maximum depth of approximately 20 mm

fastening the connector by means of a thrust screwdriver (min 280 Nm ) until the thread is fully inserted and the stop rests on the metal profile or on the corrugated sheet
